I am very much interested in 3D modeling and printing. I own a Folgertech Kossel. I fell in love with the design of the delta-type printer and ended up impulse buying the kit. If you're good with building things, I highly encourage looking into the kits if you're considering a 3D printer. It's definitely the most economical route, and by building the thing, you learn how to repair and tweak it when things go wrong or your print quality isn't as good as you want. I'll be honest, the instructions were kind of lacking whenever I built my printer (2016), but after about 36 hours of assembly, I had a decently operating printer. Today the quality is great, and rivals printers that cost thousands of dollars.
